Horsham District Council’s (HDC) Leisure Link held its first ever Sport and Leisure Fair this April. The event was organised in order to promote awareness of good health and the leisure opportunities available in the Horsham District. The fair launched a fortnight of sport and leisure ‘taster’ sessions.
At the invitation of HDC, Horsham Arun Badminton Club (HABC) provided a stand of badminton related information, including club activities, member benefits, Sussex county badminton and coaching. During the day HABC members gave visitors the opportunity to try out their skills as well as demonstrating some controlled shots and routines. In the afternoon a stringing demonstration was provided.
HABC have organised free taster sessions aimed at encouraging new players. These are being held at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre, nr Horsham. The taster sessions are on the evenings of the 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st May and are being run by the club’s qualified badminton coach, Zeyar Win.
