You are in: Home -> About The Club

As one of the largest badminton clubs in Sussex and with a history dating back to 1926, Horsham Arun and its members play an influential part in the development of badminton throughout the county.

The club is located within Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre, Wickhurst Lane (see map). We have three high quality, dedicated courts with changing rooms and showers. We also have a clubroom and bar area that overlooks the courts.

Horsham Arun has mixed, mens and ladies teams in four of the locally run leagues in Sussex and Surrey. The club is also the home playing venue for the Sussex Veteran's badminton teams who play inter county matches on some weekends throughout the season. Horsham Arun will also play host to a number of matches for the Senior county squad.

All Standards Welcome

The club itself has a minimum standard of play which it requires of its members. Players should be able to properly participate in a scoring game and have a basic understanding of the rules of play.

Through its relationship with Horsham Adult Education Centre, there is plenty of scope for beginners and new starters. The club provides courts and playing times for beginners and newcomers to learn to play the game and then naturally progress through to playing at the club. Coaching is made available in both organised sessions and on a one-to-one basis.

Playing Sessions

Horsham Arun play on three evenings every week, throughout the year. Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings are club nights and there are daytime sessions every day. Please see the membership section to find a session thats right for you.

Affiliation and Club Registration

BADMINTON England has introduced the Club Registration program which lays down policy and guidelines to help clubs develop opportunities for young people to experience the pleasure of badminton. The idea is that these opportunities are organised to the highest standards in all aspects.

In becoming a registered club, Horsham Arun aspires to give young people the opportunity to experience the fun and excitement of playing badminton as members of a friendly and supportive club.
