HABC is a large, but friendly badminton club that caters for players of all ages and abilities. We are the first club to be officially designated as a Performance Centre, but we also understand that most badminton players play to keep fit and have fun! We have a range of club, coaching and match nights to meet the needs of all players (including beginners). If you have a flexible daily programme we also have a vibrant daytime section which generally caters for more mature players, some of whom are on court for 6 hours or more a week!
For those who are keen to play league games we participate in the West Weald, Crawley, Brighton and Surrey Leagues. A number of our players regularly enter regional and national competitions and some have national rankings. We have about 14 teams and would like to increase the number of mixed and women's matches that we play. Our top players are expected to play a certain number of training matches with lower league players so that they get the opportunity to play faster games than they would normally get on a club night. To back up our programme we have a range of coaches and coached sessions for children, teenagers (look at the Academy for more details) and adults.
We are very fortunate to have our own dedicated courts with sprung flooring, clear markings and proper lighting. Our membership fees offer great value, particularly for families and you can have 3 free sessions to see if you like us (see timetable).
