27th February - Talent Identification BISI Festival - 24th February 2008
Horsham Arun Badminton Club ran an unprecedented event at the K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley on Sunday 24th February. See the events section for more details.
27th February - HABC Named as England's First Badminton Performance Centre!
BADMINTON England have announced that Horsham Arun is the first Performance Centre nationally. This achievement is the culmination of months of dedicated hard work by Horsham Arun Badminton Club, its members and volunteers. HABC’s coaching staff have been instrumental in working with BADMINTON England’s Performance Team in developing the PC Coaching and Mentoring Handbook. The Performance Centre environment has been established to operate at local community level to drive forward badminton in clubs and schools. 27th February - HABC Players Win Norfolk Open Men's Doubles
Congratulations to Colin Dow and Will Hilton-Jackson for winning the Men's Doubles section at the Norfolk Open on the 16th February.
Colin and Will won the final 22-20, 21-18 against first seeds Graham Wells and Ian Murphy.
In addition to this Will got to the quarter finals of the Men's Singles where he lost closely to Simon White 21-17, 21-17.
10th July - Another Baby...
All at Horsham Arun extend their warmest congratulations to Suzanne Searle and partner Steve Warner who are celebrating the birth of a baby boy. Jack William Warner was a healthy 9 lbs 5 oz and was born at 10:15 on 9th July at St Richards Hospital in Chichester.
9th July - Membership Renewals
The membership forms for the 2007/2008 season have been sent to all existing members. Please return the forms and payment promptly. The dealine for membership returns is 17th August 2007. Forms and payment received after that date will incur a £10 joining fee. There have been some revisions to the payment scheme, particularly for family membership, and members should look carefully at the options. If anyone has any questions regarding membership, or has not received a renewal form, please email Mark Hales at membership@habc.org.uk.
1st July - Player Gradings
Below are the gradings for all players completing a sufficient number of eligible matches during the last season. Grades marked with an asterisk are provisional and derived from an average for players who have completed fewer matches. The players listed below are invited to attend Tuesday clubnights once they commence in October. Other players wishing to attend these clubnights must email match-secretary@habc.org.uk to secure a discretionary invitation.
